Louise closes the door in her room.  Soon enough, we hear her light breathing, in and out.  Thankfully she is a deep sleeper, so we never get caught.  We change into the normal clothes Louise never puts on us.  The doll dresses she always puts on us are too itchy and always have a fruit print.  My name is Cherry, and I live with Mango (a friend, who happened to come in the same doll set.)
Louise is a bad caretaker, mostly because she is a 7-year-old only-child.  She shakes us around too much and tosses us around the room when she gets bored of us. This is the night Mango and I will finally act in defiance. Tonight we will poison her.  I know how to make the perfect mixture.  All that is necessary is lemon juice, some nail polish remover, and a secret ingredient that Mango told me about once.  A drop of the mixture in the mouth apparently kills instantaneously.  Mango and I escape the dollhouse swiftly, collecting our materials and leaving the play room.
We slide under Louise’s door.  With great agility, we begin our ascent up her bed.  Mango almost drops the lemon juice just as we get to the top.  At this moment, the lights in Louise’s room start flickering.  Her window swings open and a gust of wind enters, almost knocking us over.  Outside is a full moon, but tonight it is a bright red, just like a fresh strawberry.
Mango and I try to ignore this as we try to make our way to Louise’s face.  In a few moments we will be rid of our oppressor.  Mango takes out one of the bowls from the dollhouse and dumps the three ingredients inside.  However, she spills some of the secret ingredient.  The entire room immediately begins smelling like watermelon bubble gum.  After a minute, the scent is so strong, I feel like fainting.
“Don’t spill any more!  Don’t be so careless!”  I whisper-yell at Mango.  Louise could be waking up any minute now.  Mango nods apologetically and gently opens Louise’s mouth (so as not to wake her up) and forces the mixture down her throat.
I stare in anticipation and wait.  Nothing happens.  “If she doesn’t play with us tomorrow, we’ll know,”  Mango says.  We make the journey down the bed again.  The bubble gum smell is fading, the window closes, and we are left in utter darkness once again.
When we get back to our dollhouse, we pace back and forth until light shines through the window again.  After staying up all night, the two of us fall asleep.  We forget about Louise.  We forget about our plot against her.  We forget everything.  Both of us are in our beds, when a familiar voice tries to wake us up.  At first, it is muffled.  My eyes focus, and Louise’s face is peering into mine.  Only this time, she is the same height as me.  Her face is plastic.  She smiles.
“Do you fancy some berries for breakfast?”
