The Girl Who Ate Her Problems

The medics rushed the gurney off of the ambulance and into the hospital. “Female, age 16, suffering from extreme bloating and tenderness of the abdomen and complaining of extreme abdominal pain,” says the paramedic to the doctors. The doctor feels the patient’s abdomen and tries to figure out the source of the problem. Finally, the doctor concludes that the girl is suffering from appendicitis, and orders an operating room for her. The nurses rush the girl to the O.R and the doctor starts to operate right away. “10- Blade, please,” he says to the nurse. The doctor makes the first incision right above the girl’s appendix. When the doctor took a closer look inside his patient he noticed that her appendix was not the problem but rather her stomach was full of food, a radio, a laptop and a cell phone. The doctor was full of shock and he took out the dangerous foreign items from the girl’s intestinal tract, not knowing what else to do.

When the girl woke up from the anesthetic, the doctor asked her about her condition. Then the girl simply said, “my radio, laptop and cell phone gave me problems, so I ate them.”
