It is an imaginary scene where Bayardo San Roman is feeding Xius with money. In chapter two of Chronicle of A Death Foretold Bayardo wanted to buy Xius's house but he rejected even though Bayardo offered him a lot of money. Xius claimed that it was the only thing left from his wife.
He couldn't resist for a long time and accepted the offer, he died
shortly after. In the picture the tree represents Xius's wife. The
branches of the tree cover the house. It means that Xius feels like she
is still with him in the house. |
